Introduction:

¡°Cooperation and win-win approach¡± is one of the important results of China¡¯s diplomatic theoretical and practical innovation. It is also the core connotation of China¡¯s peaceful development path and a new international relations concept that China exerts itself to initiate while promoting the construction of a harmonious world. Both the White Paper China¡¯s Peaceful Development released in 2011 and the speeches of Chinese state leaders, including President Hu Jintao, in many important international occasions have expounded the principles and spirits of ¡°sailing in the same boat, cooperation and win-win approach¡±. How to incorporate the above-mentioned new diplomatic concepts into China-U.S. relations practice so as to promote cooperation and achieve win-win results is not only a crucial issue for building a new type of big power relations between China and the United States, but a matter concerning the feasibility of China¡¯s pursuit of a peaceful development path. Although China and the United States differ greatly in their foreign policy objectives and concepts, the two countries have broad common interests. Exploring the potential, conditions and avenues for promoting win-win cooperation between the two countries has practical significance for combining China¡¯s new diplomatic theory and practice.
